Born into a religious christian family makes me loveeeeeee and anticipating christmas season year round. When i was a child my description about christmas are new dress, christmas tree, christmas mass and of course cookies. Christmas in Indonesia or Jakarta is very festive, specially in department store or Malls, they put christmas decoration very nicely and also offering year end SALE that transform you into instant shophaholic. Even though christian is minority in Indonesia it doesn't make Indonesian Christmas less festive than any other country in Southeast Asia, specially in capital city Jakarta or any other big cities like Surabaya, Denpasar or Medan, but if looking for city or province in Indonesia that celebrating Christmas all out the answer is North Sulawesi. The capital city Manado will sparks with decoration, christmas lights, and full melody of christmas carol, they even start the season during early November. All cities and small villages through out North Sulawesi are embracing the spirit of christmast whole heartdly. My Family is from North Sulawesi we call ourself Minahasa or Manadonese that's why Christmas is a big event in our family.
